Educational Tools for STEM
Federal Quota ProgramIn 1879, The Federal Act to Promote the Education of the Blind was enacted by Congress. According to the law, A wide variety of specially designed and adapted materials are provided free to students who are visually impaired in educational settings. Federal Quota Program is known as the system through which these specialized materials for students who are visually impaired are distributed. The American Printing House for the Blind is responsible for the overall administration of this program that provides educational materials. Teachers, administrators, students, parents, and service providers can contact the American Printing House for the Blind for consultation on educational materials, needs, or services. More information about Federal Quota is available on the APH website ( https://www.aph.org ). Educational tools include adapted audio recording equipment, devices for writing braille, and talking computer hardware, special supplies such as braille and bold-line papers, special binders and notebooks, and other consumable materials used in the classroom are listed below. |
